Drinking & Driving - Don't Ever!

Once again, we are approaching the holidays of Christmas and New Year.

We have all heard it before, but I will reinforce it again. DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE! and DO NOT LET A FRIEND DRIVE DRUNK-TAKE THEIR KEYS AWAY!

Take turns with your friends and have a designated driver so you all get home

alive and safe.

According to National reports, 13,000 people have died in 2024 due to DUI

crashes. That means someone is killed every 39 seconds. Think about that! These

high numbers haven't been seen since 2007. Speeding and not wearing seatbelts

are another contributing cause of death and injury.

Young adults aged 21-24 have the highest fatality rate. They are reckless and

feel "I can drink without a problem." We need to keep educating them to help protect themselves, their family members, their friends, and the public: Alcohol in moderation, not to obliteration. Men account for almost 80% of DUI fatalities. Duis account for 25% of children's fatalities in car crashes!

Most accidents occur at night. Alcohol and marijuana(THC) are the most common causes of fatal crashes. Teenagers and older adults are included in this high-risk group. Mississippi has the highest fatality rate, along with Alabama, Wyoming

and South Carolina. Texas is considered one of the most dangerous states to drive in.

EVEN ONE DRINK CAN AFFECT YOUR DRIVING! So be smart, stay safe,

educate, and enjoy your holidays!
